Credit Union Overview
Mid-Cities Schools Credit Union was founded by a group of
teachers from Compton in 1937. The first credit union manager
was Dr. Roy Strain, who was an instructor at Compton Community
College. Dr. Strain ran the credit union out of his home, without
compensation, for many years.
Today Mid-Cities Schools Credit Union has a spacious location
in the heart of Compton and has over $27,000,000 in assets
with more than 4,700 members. We are proud of the fact that
we are a credit union, which means we are a non-profit cooperative.
Members earn high rates on share and certificate accounts,
and members may borrow at very competitive loan rates.

that will serve the mutual benefit of members and improve their
